John L. Callahan, 63, a twenty-nine-year Alaskan, was found dead at his Gold Creek cabin on July 7. He had worked as a miner in the Juneau area and in the Willow Creek gold mines. At his death he was employed as a plumber in Kenai. Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Mellie Callahan of Kenai, a daughter, Mrs. Jessy Henner of Fairbanks, a son, Daniel of Kenai, and a stepson, Hal Wilson. [Aug1968]
