Helen Wheaton, who came to Alaska as a bride in 1934 and who later wrote a book about the three years she and her husband, Tex Wheaton. spent at Kiska and Atka, died January 4 in Anchorage. The book was called Prekaska's Wife, which translates to storekeeper's wife. The couple moved to Anchorage in 1945. Her husband survives.� [May1981]
