Emerelda L. McDonald, 90, a pioneer teacher in Knik from 1912, who, with her husband, Patrick James McDonald, was among the earliest residents of the township of Anchorage, died February 27, in Santa Barbara, California. The family moved to Fairbanks in 1929 and Mrs. McDonald operated a piano business and taught piano lessons. Both her children, Dr. Menifer McDonald of Santa Paula, California, and Patrice McDonald of Santa Barbara, who survive are Fairbanks High School graduates. [Aug1981]
